H O W T O | 90s Inspired Kylie Jenner Makeup Tutorial

Hey everyone! I'm sure you're all aware of the infamous makeup that Kylie Jenner has been sporting everywhere... People of all ages are trying their best to imitate, but what's funny is this is the same style of makeup that was around in the 90's, the age of Spice Girls, Friends, TLC etc. From scouring YouTube, I found not many were in the way of 'Women of Colour' and instead ladies were focusing more on the product or specific colour rather than the technique to achieve the look.

In this post and in my video that I'll link below, I'll try my best to teach you how to achieve this specific look and tailor it to your face/colour/taste with a few simple steps and key info!

In this picture displaying the gorgeous makeup, I want you to pay close attention to these 5 points that make up the look:

1. High Arched Eyebrows (very popular in the 90's)
2. Soft Natural Smokey/Sultry Eyes with large lashes
3. Fresh dose of Kardashian Highlight of course
4. Bronzed Cheek/Natural Looking Blush
5. Muted Pinks/Browns for lips

The idea is to keep the colour palette on the face very natural using pinks/browns/nudes but using these colours to accentuate your features rather than camoflage.

This colour diagram displays how I used the same colour palette used on Kylie, toned it down for my skin tone.

1. Your Skin Colour
2. Your Eye Crease Colour (Only a couple shades darker to bring out your eyes)
3. Outer V Colour (Just to smoke things out a little)
4. Muted pink lip

Remember keep everything smoked/blended out to keep it natural looking and sultry... NO HARSH LINES.

I really hope this helped you ladies that have probably watched endless tutorials on how to achieve this look. Keep in mind, all looks are possible; it doesn't necessarily matter if you have the same product or shade, just find what works for you and voila!

Have a great day ladies... I'll put a couple pictures so you can see what the look actually looks like without all the filters etc! And don't forget to share this post/video to all your girlies out there

A Productive Sunday...

So today I watched a sermon from Hillsong and it was extremely motivating (about how God can open doors for you regardless of your situation as long as you trust in him.. I may do a blogpost/video about it) In turn, it really boosted my morale for today into that 'can-do' attitude and I felt like I could conquer the world. So I grabbed my cuppa and a couple slices of flapjack with my notebook at the ready. Been battling through all the mundane chores and tasks I've been putting off like writing emails, organising and of all... WASHING MY MAKEUP BRUSHES! I've been working on some videos for my youtube, especially fashion related. I'm currently planning an all white lookbook, just to give you guys inspiration on how you can style white without being too scared :P So watch this space...

Also I wanted to shed some light on my ebay shop - maxineagy! Now you can shop my closet too... I have way too many clothes and not enough places to go. Plus I am losing a couple rolls here and there so my most loved items are looking slightly off. There are some gems there for some bargain prices so please please have a browse and share!!!

Whether you're religious or not, I pray that God will empower you guys to tackle everyday with divine strength and focus like He did for me today!

Amen

OOTD | Clean Grunge: Revisiting the 90's

Just another quick outfit, reminded me of the 90's - crop tops, baggy coveralls, body con skirs, docs, the 'i can't be arsed' look... Thought I'd do my take on it but more polished version. Actually very comfy and very easy to mix and match prints and colours (seeing as I left my palette quite neutral)

Style Sunday | Red Monochrome

Another Style Sunday for y'all! I fancied wearing my red jeans today which I hardly touch as red on me is just too scary. However, wouldn't be right to have it collecting dust in my wardrobe now, would it? So I decided to work round a monochromatic palette in order to keep the focus on the jeans. I love the dip low shirt as the pattern adds character to the look but doesn't subtract from the simplicity of the pieces. It was slightly cold in the morning for church, so threw on a leather jacket which NEVER looks bad on ANYONE! As per, kept accessories to a minium.

Style Sunday | Floral Forms

This is the beginning of a new series mainly on my blog (may have previews on my youtube at a later date) of my Sunday outfits.

Floral Forms

I wanted to build my outfit around these pair of floral ankle jeans that I've had for so long but hardly wear due to how bold they are. So to keep things within the 'pastel' theme, I opted for a light blue shirt, nude peep toe pumps and minimal accessories. The outfit was surprisingly comfy and easy going even though the shirt looked rather 'prim and proper'.

Shirt: Ralph Lauren
Jeans: Primark
Pumps: Primark
Bag: Gift from Grandma
Watch: Aldo
Rings: Miss Selfridge
Nail Polish: Flawless by Essie
