OOTD | Black Fall Transitional Pieces Lookbook

I just love creating lookbooks guys! Recently, the cold weather and the running up to winter has sort of made me feel more reluctant to be too 'out there' with my clothing. My wardrobe has been focused on more essential/staple items in a rather monotone direction. Autumn/Winter always drives me to layer and play around with shape, textures, materials with keeping simple and classic. I feel like I really achieved this in this lookbook, demonstrating how I would show my style without feeling uncomfortable or over the top. The looks are transitional, meaning I could add or takeaway to suit the weather or the occasion. There's 2 casual and 2 formal looks...

I think I'd wear this look more often tbh... Its casual and so comfy! The back pack is so handy as it keeps my arms free .. and the boots add a little height due to the oversized shirt!

Let's say I had an interview or somewhere formal to attend. Black on black never had to be boring.. little additions such as the boy tie and the man like shoes spruce up any traditional look. Who said black tie was for the men?!

This is another well worn look of mine. These disco pants have been worn to the brim, going on 2 years now (n.b. make sure you NEVER machine wash them or it'll compromise how long the elastic will last!) They keep all my lumps and bumps tucked in perf without restricting my movement. I am IN LOVE with this woolen kaftan cape looking cardi that I thrifted. Its so warm and goes with EVERYTHING! Paired with some wedge booties for little more dressed up occasion like going for lunch or drinks.

Necklaces: H&M and Miss Selfridge
Top: New Look
Cardi: Thrifted
Ring: Ebay
Disco Pants: American Apparel
Boots: H&M

This is rather cute isn't it? I thought I'd play around with textures as the whole look is black. I feel that the fur of the jumper really contrasts with the shiny pleather trim of the skirt and my clutch bag. And the same thing is kinda happening on the booties, suede and smooth leather. Its all just a fun look really. The circle skirt complements the booties for a girly look, but the black and gold hardware still give it an edge! Loving my booties this season tbh!

Jumper: Primark
Necklace; Primark
Skirt: Concessions in Debenhams (cant remember)
Booties: Miss Selfridge
Bag: Dorothy Perkins
Rings: Dorothy Perkins

Hope you enjoyed this post! Have a great day xo

H O W T O | Lauryn Hill / 90's Inspired Fall Makeup Tutorial

So another makeup tutorial, this time inspired by the great Lauryn Hill! I love how she played around with browns, bronzes and golds to create such a demure sexy look without looking too overboard. As much as it is a classic look, its also PERFECT for the fall/autumn period. I kept my palette centered around bronzes and dark browns to keep it smokey; if you would like it to be more daytime friendly, just don't deepen the colour too much. This look can work for all skin tones, just pick a brown shade for you! Hope you enjoy it, and don't forget to comment rate and subscribe!

p.s. I absolutely LOOOOVE the sleek eyeshadow palettes, especially the Au Naturel one. It's so women of colour friendly, pigmented and easy to blend. This palette can do such an array of looks, I'm so excited to do more tutorials using this (hint hint... the grey is my favourite!!!)

H O W T O | Flannel/Plaid Shirt Lookbook

So flannel shirts are back in are they? Funny that, I got mine like over 3 years ago from a charity store only because it was and still is so soft and comfy. Best to get them from there, nowadays they're retailing quite expensive in the high street stores as everyone wants them. Below are examples of ways that I personally style it so grab some inspiration and get comfy with style. (Classic case of pre youtube planning - outfits don't match filmed outfits as I mixed and matched... but hey that's life!)

H O W T O | White x White Lookbook

So tonal colours such as white, black and everything in between, have really been popular in the world of fashion. For this spring and summer months, white on white has stood out the most. Most of us try to steer clear from the all pure white for many reasons: gets dirty quick / makes you look bigger / not flattering / black is just easier.... BUT I say to you let that stop now.

Because white is such a blank and emphasising shade, you must pay more attention to the cut, detail, shape, style and fashion of the clothing item in itself. Now you can't hide behind the colour and/or patterns. In this lookbook, are my ideas of different 'staple' pieces of white items that anyone can try.. OBVIOUSLY tailor it to suit your shape and taste.

DISCLAIMER: THIS IS NOT A HOW YOU SHOULD WEAR WHITE BUT ONLY MY WAY I FASHION MYSELF AND IDEAS AND INSPIRATION FOR YOU ALL!

This outfit was centered around the every day girl... if you fancy catching some drinks with the girls or running errands (just drop the shoes for flats if need be) However I tell you, I could walk from England to Timbuktu in these heels, they are at such a comfortable height you could rock climb in them. Plus they are very simple and elongate your legs (especially for shorties like me :P)

Chain: Topman
Vest: Thrifted
Jeans: H&M
Shoes: New Look

I was inspired by my lovely friend for this one. Her style is very effortless, thrown together but tailored ... something like 'I woke up like this, flawless' if you catch my drift. The shirt is a large mens shirt that looks like I borrowed it from my imaginary italian stallion the night after (I wish!) I paired it with some black shorts as the shirt isn't long enough to pass as a dress (but feel free to style it that way if you're that brave)

LEGS LEGS LEGS.. I'm not that confident with my legs much but seeing as it was ridiculously hot and I'd been working out, thought I should be a little proud of my hench calf muscles. I paired it with simple heels again, but more flashy. This is aimed for those night outs that you want massive comfort but still look very sexy and demure. Rough tumbled effortless waves/curls joined with a smokey eye and dark lip really go well with this look!

Shirt: Primark
Shorts: River Island
Heels: Topshop

Funny how this whole outfit is reminds me so much of the entirety of Zara... this is for my girls that want a more tailored look whilst keeping the legs out. A blazer really smartens everything up - such a staple wardrobe item whichever colour. I wont lie, keeping it brisk white is effort -.- but such a statement 'look at me' piece. I dressed it down a little bit with this loose knit jumper casually tucked into these tailored high waist shorts. Kinda looks like a short suit.

I kept all the accessories clean and around the silver grey palette, so more of the attention is focused on the different textures and shapes. I loooove this look the most, very clean and simple but kicks a punch.

Blazer: Topshop
Jumper: H&M
Shorts: H&M
Heels: Zara
Necklace: Primark
Rings: Miss Selfridge/Primark

NOW.... we all have that freakum dress hidden somewhere in the depths of our wardrobes or even attics haha. This is the most daring for me for many reasons: The dress is white. Disastrous on a night out where you may be overly paranoid who is walking within 5 metre radius of you. Secondly the dress is white. It accentuates all the lumps and bumps and makes you look a little bigger.

How did I tackle all of that... well first you just have to bite your lips, close your eyes and pray for all the confidence first. Clothing is about style and your own expressions being shown on the outside. Confidence is key. Next, to hide all lumps and bumps, girl you better believe I had spanx and the whole army and navy holding my packs of rolls in. A great detail I love about this dress is the back .. gives such a simple dress a twist and sexiness. My back as never looked so nice haha!

These heels give me LIFE. Fell in love at first sight. They have a hidden platform (which is my favourite) to keep the clean lines of the shoe and the stiletto is just YES YES YES. T-bar's give every shoe that cute feminine look so its all 5 stars for me, BARGAIN at only £20 from office.

Dress: Zara
Shoes: Office

Now I urge all of you to step out of your comfort zone and incorporate some white into your closets and watch how much brighter it makes you. Play around with shapes, tailoring, patterns, textures if you don't know where to start. Good thing about white is it NEVER goes out of fashion so invest in some quality peices.
